Cauliflower export

Cauliflower belongs to the cruciferous family, which also includes broccoli, cauliflower, and kale. The flowers on the cauliflower are closely spaced and consist of flower buds that are attached to a central stem. The flavor and softness of their roses are protected from sunlight to prevent the production of chlorophyll pigment and its over-ripening. The habitat of cauliflower is Asia, but many years later it appeared in the Mediterranean region, Turkey and Italy around 600 BC. By the middle of the 16th century, cauliflower was also known in France and Northern Europe. Today, India, China, Italy, France, and the United States are the top producers of cauliflower for export worldwide.

According to the statistics published by FAO, China is the first major producer of this agricultural product with the production of 10 million tons of broccoli and cauliflower.

According to the 3rd ranking information center, after China, India and the United States are in the second and third places with the production of 8 million tons and 1.3 million tons, respectively.

Properties of cauliflower

Cauliflower is a rich source of vitamin C and manganese, both of which are major components of antioxidants. In addition, it contains a wide range of other types of antioxidants and as a result, it prevents the risk of cancer, heart disease and stroke. Antioxidants are also essential in destroying free radicals that cause premature aging.

Cauliflower is an excellent source of vitamin C, folate, vitamin K, B complex vitamins and vitamin E. Cauliflower also contains vital minerals such as calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, sodium and iron, which are not harmful to the body without adding cholesterol.

Export of Iranian cauliflower

According to FAO statistics in 2015-2016, China is the largest producer of kale, cauliflower and broccoli in the world. Iran produces more than 250,000 tons of cabbage every year, which is mainly harvested from Dezful, Fars province and Qasr Shirin, Karaj, Shahr Ray, Varamin, Gorgan and Bushehr regions. Iran is among the top twenty countries in the world in terms of cabbage production. Most of the cabbage produced in Iran is exported to Russia

In Iran, the cities of Isfahan, Varamin, Dezful and Karaj are among the regions that produce cauliflower with export quality.
